The Many Faces of Master D (Part 1)

What is reeeally cool is how we see Master D (Dracula to most folk) portrayed in various motion pictures and how you can see the influence of the times takes its place. In 'Blade Trinity' the directors opted for the chisled features and solid frame of Dominic Purcell who, it has to be said, did a grand job (although in our humble opinion Blade Trinity happened to be the worst of the trilogy). In mainstream movie world, these days if you wanna be taken as a true vamp you gotta be fit, strong and fast. You aint neccesarily gotta be able to fly but you gotta be able to jump reeeeeeal far, or reeeeeeal high. Gone are the dark cloaks and clothes of the not too distant past, the vamp nation doesn't need to skulk in the shadows anymore, we gotta blend in, look sharp and move in style.

We don't even change into bats anymore according to those big shots, because we're too busy morphing into nine foot beasts that roar like demented lions and beating our hoofed feet.

Overall, Dominic was able to capture some of what we would term the classic Drac persona. He was intense (sometimes too intense), brooding and appeared obviously able to inflict serious damage. But Master D wasn't all about that was he? He was also alluring, smart and sharp witted. Yes he liked to take victims but we doubt that he would have wrecked a shop that was filled with Drac ornaments and gift products. In fact we reckon he would have probably bought something and given the shop keeper a little kiss to say thanks.

Oh boy...the good old days eh!

Trained in several martial arts disciplines plus armed to the teeth with some heavy artillary, Blade packs some serious punch when it comes to combat. Unfortunately for Harker Drac's nifty choke lock proved too much during their first real clash and the poor chap never really recovered from the experience.

The Vampires Ramblers Association is holding a series of walks. The group wants people to join them on their visits to local beauty spots during the evening.

Each has been designed to encourage anyone who might want to get out and about, enjoy some fresh air or pick up a little gentle exercise while the nicer weather is about.

They all last around five hours and are approximately seventy miles.

Breakfast is Served

A fundraising breakfast for charity is being laid on by a Brierly Barr Community Organisation.

'Jugular' in Garlstone Crescent, Barntley will be serving up full English breakfasts to raise cash for Nosferatu Dentures Support.

Organisor Michael Packson said a represntative from the charity was due to attend the event on October 29.

Breakfast will be served from 4.00am to 7.30am.
